Description
Tri colored herons are wading birds and spend much of their day in the water hunting for fish, frogs, bugs, and sometimes even snakes. This beautiful heron was displaying all of its beautiful colorful feathers for mating season. The beak turns a cobalt blue and they grow additional fancy plumage.
This handsome fellow was drying and preening on the fence along the boardwalk of the wetlands. Giving himself one last fluffing before flying off.
